Take That to Heart (challenge poem)
I look at you across a field, splendor of gold and green. I watch to see the sign, Of what you will do to me. I prepare. Holding my breath, feeling my heart beat. I reach for the one, power to course through me. I am like sung wood. You look at me across a feild, faeries dancing wildly. You watch to see the movement, that I have held so tightly. You prepare. Holding your breath, Feeling your heart too. You stretch for the one, power to course through you. You are like obsidian. I throw at you a gleaming ray of light. Striking your left shoulder with the blight. You take that to heart. You change me into a gollum. Ribbiting and running from. I take that to heart. I pull the air around you into a storm. Whipping your long hair like snakes. You take that to heart. You pull down fire to burn my skin. An inferno of one part. I take that to heart. I sing a song of ice. Freezing you to stone inside a glass cell. You take that to heart. You sing a song of rupture. The ground splits beneath my feet and I fall. As I fall I pull a dirty trick. I have true weapons. I shoot an arrow into the sky. You take it in the heart. I have won one battle. I have been victorious. I have cheated. I take that to heart.not sure about this even after ive submitted it to challenge....hmmmmm Written March 2nd, 2002 © on Mar 01 2002 04:43 PM PST 0 • 10
