Another Starless Night (Addition to 'Starless Night')
I walk along the same old, muddy path that leads to the deserted river bank, The new moon has dissapeared into the sky, It's numbing aura ceased. The leaves rustle and the wind gently blows bitter breaths, Hilighting the breaths of my own, As they rise above the trees and towards the sky. The river runs calm enough, But underneath I know the current travels in the opposite direction, Furious and distraught. It seems like it has been so long since I lest felt your touch, And your gently, warm skin, Wrinkled with age and wisdom, Comforting and loving. It seems like it has been so long since I last said I'll see you later, Because no longer will you be seen, And now all I have is a heart to remember you by... But it is not good enough. It seems like it has been so long since I last saw those fearful eyes, Cold and shallow, Yet you strong for me... You held my hand. You held my hand when I was sick, And comforted me because you knew how... You were everything I had, And even though you live among stars, I will always miss you... Then I notice... Tonight was starless... And I was no longer looking up to see them... You once again hold my hand. Written January 10th, 2002 © on Jan 09 2002 05:54 PM PST 18 • 0 • 12
