Floating
We lie on the frozen, crystallized tundra, down in the field of hope and dreams And stare so intently upon the sky with our hopes set high. Our dreams are uplifted from the vibes of the powdery white snow beneath us, And the bitter chill of the arctic wind catches our breaths making them ever so much more incredible then the millions before. Our eyes gaze into space with the innocence of the many children that shape this world, And our love is forever tied together by the ever more bright, twinkling stars above. Within our gazing eyes the mythical moon shines like it never did before, As it breaks through the silence and stillness of a clear brisk night so high above. With our hands clung so tight together, Our lives pass by like as if forever we have been living in this dream called life. It is a dream meant to be so rich and cluttered by love, But a dream gone bad among the pain, A dream with hate and cruelty and sorrow, For it is the only dream that is hidden among the lies that life is not a ray of shinning light. However it is a life that I will cherish forever, Because it is a life with you right by my side, Every moment through the night, As our souls float up toward the light and stars scattering the perilous sky, And we fade away into the night. This is probably my favorite poem... I wrote it a few years ago and it just never lost it's feeling... no matter what anyone thinks... (It is left unedited from when I first wrote it about 3 years ago because it is best that way...)
