I Stand Alone
In a world infatuated with hurting others, Even when they try to help, I try to stand alone. In a world where people kill themselves because they cannot take it.... Where eagles no longer soar because we do not let them, I try to stand alone. In a world bound by limits and tests, I try to break them and pass them with flying colors, I try to stand alone. In a world where hate is said to be freedom of speech, And white doves can be shot down from a red sky, I try to stand alone. I try to live my own life, Away from your pain and suffering, Becuase that is the only life I can stand to keep... Inside I am much weaker than I appear, But still I will stand alone. I will not bow down to the richest of kings, Or be enslaved by a might god, Or be controled by the very barriers that have been set for me, Because I stand alone, And to stand alone I must break laws and conquer mountains. To stand alone I must be true to only one person, And that is myself. Inside I am much weaker than I appear, That way... I can anticipate the next corner.
