The Day We Grew Apart
Many years ago we would run and play hide-and-go-seek, Or swim in the pool until we shrivled up and fainted from exhaustion. Many years ago we would play mindless games like follow the leader, Or hold lemonade stands and then always burn the money. Many years ago hate didn't matter, Love didn't hurt us, The world couldn't touch us, Our lives were our own. Many years ago we were friends. All of us were inseperable, Invincible and strong. We were the four who had everything planned out from the beginning of life 'till the end, But that was many years ago. Now things have changed, And things have fallen apart. Many years ago I would say change was good, But many years ago I was ignorant. Sometimes I now wonder if ignorance really is bliss, And I realize that growing up isn't necissarily growing happier, More like the opposite. Now I realize how much I really had many years ago, And I thank you all for what you have given me. Even though you'll never read this, Or even know who I am if you do, I have to say thank you for all you've done. We were best friends, Until the day we grew apart.I wish things never changed... until they do... then u wish they would change back.
