By Rambler

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Solo intellect Absent the Siamese twin of prudence Scintillating yet barren Unlike Archimedes Moves not the world But follows it Discernment’s crippled leg dragging Answering plaguing questions Not through wisdom But by the swing of the pendulum Is it the one? Or the many Whose need is paramount? When? Where does the king’s scepter light? Maintaining oscillation Between Scylla and Charybdis A monotonous acrobat of weariness Solo intellect, solo skill Bequeathing ages of waste In endless genuflection To a dearth of options Never deferring to wisdom That solvent of mystery Preferring rule over error To understanding Written March 1st, 2002 © on Mar 01 2002 04:18 AM PST, Bruce Newman   0 • 1
