A Muse amongst damned students
Outside, faint noise erupts from within Gleeful sounds of mirth and joyful actions From here, it’s but a distraction from the diesel An image we’re not part of, Or ever can be. Stuck from ever being able to leave or break free. We are Prisoners by our own choice An outsider through our own means Nothing without any others perception Silently scribbling alone, far from the house of decadence Self-imposed solitude, free for mocking “Come see the silent naked freaks in all there glory!” Only a selective few looks on with any reflective understanding Roses amongst daisies, unique and beautiful as winters mists Someone who at least cares about the fools reality But in the green we still sit, Amongst the leaves we belligerently ponder And recall the sounds of moments past Of a thousand nameless insults now directed at us So we shrink further away, tightening the knot Left cold and forgotten, tired and bruised An anomaly floating away, While inside, the laughing continues unabated Written October 24th, 2001 © on Oct 24 2001 12:00 PM PST 0 • 10
