When the mirror breaks

Have I told this tale...Head slumped… he walked away,Questions burning, feelings’ overflowing… a sigh escapes his lips.Amongst the crowd he thinks nothing more anything less.Remembering times past, moments lost in time,A fleeting glimpse, a slamming door and silence forced.A singular tear, glistens in his eye, Reflecting broken dreams and shattered hopes.People brush past…Exchange pleasantries and kind wordsTrying to console the inconceivableHe walks alone, left to grind his thoughts and pace a sorry groundTurning, seeing her face… his hidden pains emergeDriving the stake harderSpinning round to familiar faces that offer hollow words and spoken advice. He listens through fogGrateful, however, for these friends he pushes on…Finding an empty outlet and frustrationA seconds silenceMisery rushes inAlone with his worst enemy, a wondering spiteful mindTo tease and tauntFlashing current history through his gazeObscuring his visionNoise erupts…The credits endHe gets up, walks onA sigh escapes his lips.
