BlanK
Fallen From a place unknown It stretches tired thoughts of restrained apathy Recalling serenity in a place far away It begins grimacing & baring teeth Filed by words Unrelenting a spectre of past approaches Slithering through dogma’s, casting aside faith Drawn by a new born babe, ripped from the womb Whose tear carved face now stares back empty Its dry parched lips mouth a silent plea, “Why?” The Phantom merely shakes his clothed head “For your penance, my child” With a sweeping gesture he reveals the truth Another lifetime of debauchery and sin Showing a white face the lies it’s believed While the creature simply beckons him to follow “Do you understand now my child?” Confusion swirls and begins anew For this was lost, this was forgotten Again the word rings hollow in his ear “Why?” Written October 24th, 2001 © on Oct 24 2001 11:47 AM PST 10 • 1
