'Countdown to Kringle'
By soosoncrack
Snow is on the ground Holiday spirits fill the air Snowmen are popping up noses of carrots and mops for hair Children on their sleds who can ride the steepest hill? Just how things should be in a season of cheer and goodwill The day after Thanksgiving is when the "countdown" starts The years most anticipated birthday and joyous spirits fill our hearts The shopping malls fill up on the busiest day of the year The kids eat turkey sandwiches and wonder when Santa will get here Anticipation fills the air our spirits fly so high Up and down each street Christmas lights fill the dark sky There are reunions and parties with drinks that are sweet Courtesy seems more plentiful in everyone we meet Just for this month times are like this, what a bummer Attitudes return with the New Year and stay with us until Summer This Season I'm hoping that it won't take us forever Every day could be like Christmas if we'd get our stuff together eak © 2001 Written December 7th, 2001 © on Dec 07 2001 10:01 AM PST 0 • 9
