'You Scared Me Best'
By soosoncrack
Think way back to when you were a child Your actions not considered rebellious or even wild Yet once you were older a name was attached To attitudes or feelings you were always over-matched Being at this disadvantage your elders beat you down Both physically and mentally your scared eyes viewed their "crowns" These "Kings" and "Queens" of imaginary places Allowed the "pauper" in them all to show in their faces They'd put up facades constructed of fear Hiding hideous insides they'd allow no one near But they did not hide whenever it came to you This "game " was fixed you did as told to Remaining obedient out of immense fear Not as mush afraid of them as of them seeing a tear Now I see them through mature, hardened eyes One "steely" stare from me now it's them that cries Their awareness of a fact that this "game" has changed For all intents and purposes "THE END" is re-arranged Now it's so pathetic the saddest thing I've seen Scrambling to wash their slates that will never come clean The difference in them a complete 180 degrees Once they deem their slate clean I'll bring them to their knees I'll stare into their eyes windows to empty souls They'll look back at mine into two dark holes Speaking so softly as I lay each to rest Telling each they're the first because "You Scared Me Best" Written October 12th, 2001 © on Oct 12 2001 08:02 AM PST 0 • 1
