A Winter Morning
By SpiffyBug
It’s one of those times in the morning When it seems like the whole world is asleep Except for me And perhaps, the trees They sit immune to the drifting snow Huddled deep within themselves With only their pencil sketch limbs Dramatically clashing against the sky And I, I stand on cold linoleum At the sink with a glass in hand, and gaze On the dreaming world outside of the window And the peaceful scene seen from inside It’s one of those times in the morning When I can be so bold as to think That I’m unique For I’m all I know that’s not asleep But time has a way of changing things And before the moment’s lost, I think I’ll leave it here so that I’ll find it again Some winter morning when I’ll rise And the world will be peaceful and asleep Except for me, and perhaps, the treesEver have this happen to you?
