The Pumpkin Poem
By SpiffyBug
My Halloween pumpkin is wearing my wig And sadly it's looking much better in it The pink ribbons make it annoyingly cute And purple was never really my color Pumpkin-head has brighter eyes And clearer skin and her smile Doesn't fade like mine Like the color from the autumn leaves But pumpky-dear will soon be rotting On my porch step. I'll be plotting How I'll dispose of her body At the local compost pile Left out with the other trash Such beauty never seems to last Especially with winter nearing Frosting faces that once were learing. If you get confused...just think of it as a giant metaphor.
