Where Shadows Lie

By SpiffyBug

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

The snow, it does not fade away, where shadows lie, but sleep in drifts, with wind it shifts, where shadows lie. Emaciated trees reach out, where shadows lie, with twists and lumps by the bloodied stumps of those who had to die. I had a love, shone like the sun, but he had to fly. Now all is grey. I have to stay, where shadows lie. There is no shadow without light. I understand why. So bright was he; my opacity. Now I live where shadows lie.Inspired by the last snow drifts of winter. . . so far. . . Written February 20th, 2002 © on Feb 20 2002 01:09 PM PST   0 • 1
