Dueling Brothers

By The Icelander

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

A minds satifaction is the hearts content, My heart is not content, So my mind is troubled, The woman I seek, Has been taken from me, By a man not worthy, To hold her as own, Even though I have not shown, The way I feel, The man and I had a deal, Not to push, The way we both feel, Towards a certain lady in waiting, He knew that, Now, I must take her back, Oh! How I this compicates things, To slay the man I cannot! Spare his life I shall, For love is stonger than hate, I go through the door, Running with fury raging in my heart, I thrust my sword forward, And thrust it into my enemies chest, I fall back knowing what I've done, I take the lady, as a tear falls slowly from my face, I take my leave with my lady, The next day has come too fast, Now, I must bury my only brother. Who said that love doesn't have a price? Written February 8th, 1998 © on Feb 22 2002 08:35 AM PST   0 • 18 • 10
