The Past

By The Icelander

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Looking through what is left of a persons heart is a troubling job, Peering at our own pain in fact is worse. Knowing things that you have said or done and the effects they've had. The past holds so many questions yet few answers, Tears shed for many reasons, Some seem unclear and others crystal, With tears comes pain and comes guilt, Aheart may know how to forgive, Unlike the mind who never forgets, Saying, "It's in the past, go on with your life." Say that the past comes back, In that case don't you think that if you put the past behind, You just might have cheaten yourself out of of something great? Things that you thought were gone coming back for another round, No one knows how to deal with the past, Just be true to yourself and to your heart.
