Goanna Toil
By The Swagman
Goanna Toil For those of you who are not sure A goanna is a large monitor Its patterned skin looks like lace And it gets along at a rapid pace In days gone by we used their oil In liniments for after toil No longer is that done today For now it’s made another way How’d we get the oil you ask? Well I’m here to tell you it was a task To get this oil that’s smooth as silk We’d find a goanna we could milk. To find them was no problem at all We just used a lizard call We’d round them up into the yard Up to now it hasn’t been hard Have you ever tried putting a goanna in a bail? It kicks and scratches and swishes its tail With that accomplished we think we can cope But now its time for the leg rope Success at last - Oh what a treat But what’s this I see - There isn’t a teat Then Pop comes over and calm as can be Says “You silly fool that’s a he not a she” By The Swagman Written November 14th, 2001 © on Nov 13 2001 07:51 PM PST 0 • 14
