Insomnia

By The Swagman

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Insomnia Again sweet sleep you have taken flight And left me here alone this night Now comes the pain to swoop and bight Is there nothing to ease my plight? The pain in my legs the pills doth fright But the pain in my mind continues to fight On and on no sleep in sight Again shall I greet the morning's light? Having trouble finding the words which might Ease my mind to its slumber filled right I wonder if the future is so bright And if everything will be alright. Now my mind's at a loftier height In someone else it's taking delight Of the future I have no insight But Sleep cometh - From this day I must alight. by  The Swagman Written November 20th, 2001 © on Nov 19 2001 11:24 PM PST   18 • 0 • 10
