Sea Dream

By The Swagman

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Sea Dream Have you ever had the urge to follow a notion? To sail in a boat and sit on the ocean. If you pick a day that's calm and clear And you stop the boat.  What do you hear? Nothing!  Yes there's nothing to be heard No slap of wave on boat, not even a bird. If you go out on a calm dark night When there isn't a star anywhere in sight You turn out the lights and just sit back Tell me - What do you see on this night so black? Nothing!  Yes there's nothing to be seen Not even a sparkle of phosphorescent sheen. So in this world of turmoil and trouble And pressures at work that will burst your bubble Should I dare to offer some advice that's free? Take it if you want or leave it be. For you can lighten your burdens when You take your mind to the sea again. The Swagman Written November 16th, 2001 © on Nov 15 2001 10:42 PM PST   0 • 10
