With many schooling fish swimming to and fro Over a shimmering oasis of parrot's feather As dancing air bubbles burst up from below. A Japanese fighting fish swims past real slow Over swaying water hornwort and heather With many schooling fish swimming to and fro A fragile Angelfish glides through the airflow Looking for her mate and swimming together As dancing air bubbles burst up from below. The colourful Neons with their stripes aglow Dance amidst the plants swaying altogether With many schooling fish swimming to and fro Yellow and blue stripped Danio's bestow. Gifts of bubble nests in mating weather. As dancing air bubbles burst up from below. Swimming just inches above coloured gravel Algae-eaters and armoured catfish do travel With many schooling fish swimming to and fro As dancing air bubbles burst up from below.Poet's Note: I thought I would try a Villanelle and see how I liked this format. If you would like to try this format here is the requirements: 6 stanzas - 5 triplets & 1 quatrain - pattern aba, aba, aba, aba, aba, abaa. Line 1 must appear as line 6, 12, & 18, while line 3 must appear as line 9, 15, & 19. Good luck with your attempt. Trish..... Written April 11th, 2002 © on Apr 11 2002 03:47 PM PST   0 • 10
