When I Finally Come To Die

When I Finally Come To Die When I finally come to die If I'm allowed one last look At the place where I lie Will I see loved ones around a prayer book? If I see you praying, then for sure Our good-bys have been expressed For I want my love to endure Long after they have laid me to rest It is you my darling, I worry about Think of me only, in your eyes For you must never take my love in doubt For reassurance look to the heavens and skies It is my death not yours So don't take my glory away I'll be angry if your mourning underscores The fact this is mine and the Lord's day. On my last look if no one's around Then it came about a different way I'll still go to the same burial ground Because of the way, I'll need more to pray. Either way Jesus died so I might Be forgiven of all my sins So when they give me my last rite His love doesn't end for me it just begins Patiently I will wait until we reunite Because the day you step into heaven Even the Lord will be in awe of the bright White light, brightening as you do any haven. My dream can come true Spending all eternity with you Once maybe, but I no longer fear death Your love will be with me long after my last breath Written March 31st, 2002 © on Mar 31 2002 02:28 PM PST   18 • 0 • 8
