Yellow Sneakers

Yellow Sneakers Looking out into the crowd People and more people constantly moving As if honoring, the settling dust seems to enshroud Its victims in a sandy colored covering Finding a pint size, pales All duties performed in my lifetime Eyes are weary checking for details Oh me, I turned my head just one-time On the far side a yellow pair of sneakers Zig zagging through the crowd, pigtails bouncing Checking around perched high, many more seekers Through the noise I barely hear the man announcing My eyes are glued on a yellow sneaker How can they be so swift? Guess it's hard to admit their stronger, we're weaker New policy, next year tie me up for my birthday gift A plan well done Yellow sneakers went to the cotton candy stand And there in her brown sandals having fun My little rug rat hangin' out, just as I planned Those yellow sneakers saved the day So bright and easy to spot I knew they would show the way To my little girl, by the stand, near the vacant lot.I wrote this for a challenge. I obviously don't understand this yet being the new kid on the block. What are those points for anyway? I figured I might just as well put it on here as waste it. Hope you enjoy!
