“Castle of Mystery”
By WindDancer J
“Castle of Mystery” I see the castle on top of the hill, So gloomy and forbidden. The secrets of yesterdays gone by, Kept quietly well hidden. The moon shines a bright light, To reveal the secret trail. Up to the castle of torment, Lies, and of lovers betrayal. Slowly I climb to learn its secrets And unravel the long awaited mystery. Of two lovers, that lived, loved, and died So brutal and unnecessary. What was the crime, which they committed? Was it so horribly wrong? The master knows, he lives with regret, And tells about it in his sad songs. The love letters written were shown to me, So that I would understand their fate. When a man loves a woman he’ll do anything, Including murder from betrayal and hate. The lovers were caught when the master came home. From a long and tiring business trip. To see his wife, making love to another. And wrote of it in love poems. The gloom that looms upon the castle, Is certainly sad and plain to see. When a man loves a woman, he’ll do anything To keep her, instead of setting her free.Just looking for your thoughts. This poem was inspired by reading many sad love poems here.
