'God, the Picture and Me'

“God, the Picture and Me” I stood all alone on a hill top, looking out across the land. A man came took my picture, smiled and shook my hand. After a while he came to me and asked “why was I sad?” “Is there anything I can do to help, to make you feel glad?” When I looked at his face, a light seems to shine all around. I said “there is nothing you can do, since I am earth bound”. He looked at me strangely and asked “what does that mean?” I told him "I wish I were dead because of all I’ve seen". How sad it must be when your life is hard and in disarray. When you can’t enjoy things, god brings you every day. It seems people wish of being an angel, more often than not. What do they get out of flying around, do tell me what? I could be closer to my god, and maybe he could tell me why. How could he abandon me this way, leaving me wanting to die? He said “My child you’re not alone, by your side I’ll always be. Remember the footprint in the sand, carrying you, that was me. His words struck a cord, as I looked up when he was done. And in an instant… I notice… The man was gone.Just give me your thoughts. Not looking for ratings. Written November 13th, 2001 © on Nov 13 2001 01:44 AM PST   0 • 13
