'Wax Wings'
By WindDancer J
'Wax Wings' In an open field I laid, wishing on a falling star. Wishing you were with here me, but you are away far. If only I could see you once again and share a kiss. To feel myself in your arms is the feeling I do miss. As I dreamt of my lover, a thought crossed my mind. A creature with wings, to carry me away I'll find. I searched all night long, but could not find a thing Until I saw a wax dragon, and heard him sing. I called on the fairies and the goddess on high, Make this dragon live, so away with me he'll fly. Before the sun rises, make my dragon live true. Dragon with wax wings I call upon you. I saw the sun rising, and the dragon breathe life. Soon I'll be reunite with my lover, to be his wife On the dragons back, flying away with the first light Never looking back, when I departed for my flight. We climb to the heavens, until the dragons wings melted, I knew our journey was over, this journey had ended. Although my dragon was real, as real as can be, My poor dragons 'Wax Wings' were not real to me. Written November 27th, 2001 © on Nov 26 2001 07:30 PM PST 0 • 8
