Reflections

By zuzus petals

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Each time I crane my neck To see the small Plastic lipstick stains On the mirror I remember The reflection I no longer see In the frame On my bathroom wall. Each time I strain my ears I can hear the silence, Which used to ask, “Have you ever Seen yourself With your eyes closed?” Each time I remember, I remember Only what remains Of the lipstick And the scent of Lotion knees That used to kiss Each star struck curl. Each time My eyelids shut I wonder if there Has been a time Where I have seen myself With my eyes closed. I try to recall the memory But all I Can envision Are ruins And shattered reflections Of white, Only white.Just to let anyone who cares know, this poem is about a very dear friend of mine who I can say I miss very much.
