Vitality
By Abyssia
In the beginning - The rain came hard, And the hefty breeze Always just overcame The warmth of the sun That beset our faces. Rainbows were few And far between, And never quite so bright Against the clouded sky As the ideals that we Had painted as children. Then, out of nowhere A seed was planted - And with a little rain, A little more sun, And a lot of patience, Roots were formed. It seemed it took forever Before it finally bloomed. The suspence seemed consuming, Though in retrospect short-lived, And often I wondered if our Labors were a fruitless effort. In time the roots sprung to life, Limbs grew thick and strong. Branches extend, reach skyward For the heavens to kiss angels' wings, And tiny twigs and leaves appeared, Whose vitality weaved a joyous blanket. A shelter from the showers; Shade that comforts from the Raging mid-day summer sun. Vibrating with a growing force, Tall and beautiful to the eyes Of all within it's view - My love for you grows stronger, More lovely, Higher, And more pure, With every passing day.Hi all :) Been a while since I've written anything. This was written a few weeks ago and I hesitated to post because it was sort of a private poem written for someone very special to me, but...... aww what the heck. ;) Written December 22nd, 2001 © on Dec 22 2001 03:04 AM PST 18 • 0 • 8
