The Last Dragon.
By Andrew Hide
High in the eastern mountains, deep in a cave he lies, This mighty reptilian warlord, now fights to open his eyes. They are just a glimmer now of the jewels they once had been, his armour's dull and faded from the battles he has seen. And now the battles over, his day has come at last, no more hopes for tomorrow, and fantasies of memories past. He rises on his weary legs and goes to greet the day, he knows that in this life time, he'll never come back this way. He walks out to the precipice, and puffs out his chest, as the morning sun light kisses him, he wants to look his best. Stretching out his gigantic wings, fully open wide, he takes a hero's leap of faith, and into the air he flies. Over hills and valleys, and meadows, emerald green, never in this land again, will the last dragon be seen. He flies along the coastline, and lands down by the sea, The past echos around his soul, but soon he will be free. Dragon tears fill his eyes, and he lets out a mighty roar, now he must do, what must be done, and follow dragon lore. He flies off out to sea, and heads straight for the sun, when his wings can beat no more, his final day is done.Dragonlover Written March 6th, 2002 © on Jun 15 2002 07:32 AM PST, Andrew Hide 0 • 12
