The Pebble.
By Andrew Hide
A hundred million years, I've rested in this place, tons and tons of earth, on every side and face. But something now is changing, the earth is losing hold, a strange new kind of feeling, I think im getting cold. Everything is getting wetter, there's movement all around, I can feel it pulling, pushing, WHOO!!! I'm out of the ground. The river keeps me rocking as I lay upon it's shore, I feel kind of lonely, nothing holds me anymore. A creature comes up to me, and takes me in its hand, shakes me in the water, and washes of the sand. Held up in the air, I feel a high pitched boom, "Hey Dad, I've found a pretty pebble, I'll keep it in my room". For many years I'd spent, in that dark and lonely place, but I'm happy to be here now, they've painted a smile on my face. Andrew Hide 04~03~02A survivor challenge.
