Cry Me A River
By deviousgirl
Let me paint for you a picture, let me draw for you an image. An image of a girl, on not just any day. It was was mid afternoon, and it seemed dark as night. The sun was hidden behind ominous grey clouds. And the taste of rain on the way. She stood in complete darkness, elevated off the ground. Her body leaning from a structured well. Below she could see the leaves, rustling in the wind. Crackling, and making crisp noises as they were swept away. She wore a black hooded cape. The lower half whipping violently in the breeze. It sounded like ocean waves crashing upon the sandy shore. Tears silently slid down her opressive face. Tears of solitude, and loss. This girl was alone in every sense of the word. The wind didn't spare her, and without sun to keep her warm . . . She felt cold, and it seeped into her bones, making her shiver and teeth chatter. Her velvet hood fell from it's place, no longer perched upon her head. The trees swayed back and forth. They appeared to be dancing with one another. The bow that held back her long brown hair, became undone. Wildly it blew behind her . . .and yet tears still rendered past. She cried for everything that she knew, a tear for me, and now one for you. Cry me a river . . . the birds flying past seemed to sing. Still she stood alone in a desolate place. So scared, and so lost. She's vulnerable to this land, and wonders what it has to offer. Tear drop after drop, cascading past another. She wonders when it'll finally be the end. . . Leaves still rustling, trees still dancing, wind still howling, breeze still whipping past. Stuck in a land strong and vast. Still crying without an end, tear for you, and another for me. Wonder what is left to be? Now she welcomes memories from the better days, but she still is that . . . Hooded figure, standing strong and lonesome. Hair astray, with ravens flying past.
