Dreams
By Dragonpoet
Belittle me here, belittle you there With words of anger or hate, Bringing forth no truths to date, No fruits to bare, For in the cycle of love, No room exists for violence. A single tear, a shower of despair, A simple twist of fate, The love so sought, a hope Begins to crumble and tumble, One lost in the dark fumbles, Holding onto a prayer. Screams, shouts, belittling words, Rushing homeward the hate, Leaving no room for faith, No flying doves, No sparrows of hope, No gifts of love, Only the crushing blows of rage. Locked within a cage, No place to flee, No home of love or caring, Everyone lost, no one daring To break the mold, Lost within the cycle. Nothing to hold, But empty dreams, And frozen screams, Trying to be, to exist, But isn't there more to life, More then this cage? With a new dawn, a fresh beginning, I begin to see, begin to know, That here within myself, My dreams can live, Thus, I dream a little dream...Not sure of the title... If you can think of a better one, let me know... Written November 24th, 2001 © on Nov 23 2001 03:34 PM PST 0 • 10
