Saying goodbye

By Dragonpoet

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Everything changes, nothing stays the same The seasons change, life changes And here we gather not in joy but in great sorrow For us, in this twisted world of ours we say goodbye, Goodbye to a brother, son, grandson, and friend. The scent of fall, the season of sleep is upon us With the wonder of color and shades of shadows And amongst nature's beauty we gathered Laying to rest a wonderful man, One who gave more then he took. He always had a kind word, A spirit of gentleness and kindness A man to be remembered for his life And not for the ending we can never understand. The boy he was, full of adventure and spirit We all hold memories of the boy, His smile, the sound of his voice, And the whispers of wisdom he spoke Never to be forgotten. He became a man from the sweet boy, Always thinking of others, And if only he had known how many of us Stand here loving him, But he lost his way.A piece I wrote saying goodbye to my brother, who committed suicide.
