Rocking the Cradle

By Dragonpoet

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Once upon a time I walked in step A prefect little soldier With not a thought to call my own Following every rule, every demand With no pride in my step Nor love in my heart. Once upon a time I followed every rule, Never questioning right or wrong Believing every word as truths Never holding a thought of my own, Nor love in my heart. Once upon a time I accepted my fate, Never questioning right or wrong With tormented nights and dreamless days A prefect little soldier, silent and obedient Never doubting the life I lived. Once upon a time I felt a spark My soul shivered, hearing an angel’s cry, Believing all I heard With my head held high, and questions upon my lips. Rocking the cradle.
