The People Museum
By edenbak
In the halls of the people museum, displays have much to show but naught to tell. exhibitions gingerly excavated from rich lands, while leaving true treasure behind. Highly polished and dirt brushed away, but the human skeleton assembled all wrong. Fragile structures that collapse if touched, worth only a page torn from a book, sheltered only by red velvet rope. All fear to overstep the flimsy barrier, the view is fine from where they stand, for they cannot see the feeble seams, the bones wedged into poor-fitting sockets. But in this chamber of regretful spectacles, the pieces quickly gather dust, for if all are on display, who is left to visit?Enjoy! Written March 24th, 2002 © on Mar 24 2002 10:50 AM PST 0 • 11 • 9
