Engagement of Souls

By FranticFad

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I lay in the soft grasses of the gentle hills, the warmth of a spring breeze teasing gently across my flushed skin. Serenaded by uncounted millions of tiny night creatures, I lay back, open to the promise of the infinite vista that opened before my eyes. A magnificent canopy of lights dashed wildly across the heavens, a river of sparkling, crystal beacons, each a promise of warmth and life. That my trembling, mortal fingers could find their grasp, I would lift a jewel from its velveteen bed and lay it gently upon your breast, where it might become even more brilliant, bathed in the radiance of your soul.
