Hello Father

The night drew cold, so dark and so still A limitless vista, so somber and chill I extended my hand, deep into the night My tired, sore heart was pounding with fright Bright piercing stars, cold distant fire The promisse of youth had been sold by a liar Small and alone I reached for the sky My leaden chest shook as I started to cry I sank to my knees, my eyes open wide Soul too exposed, with no place to hide Great rivers of suns gleam in my mind Leaving the smallness of life far behind From places unseen and time yet uncounted Beyond what I see, touch and feel and have doubted A great love opens me up like a book And my father tells me softly, you only need look Written February 9th, 2002 © on Feb 09 2002 12:04 PM PST   0 • 13
