Standing so still

Standing so still, My pulse pounding loudly, Alone at the edge of rapture's abyse I cry Standing so still, The thin winter's wind flails at my soul Icy, thin fingers of fear and remorse And I cry Standing so still, I watch, so detached as the last frail leaves fall from the bough of a naked, cold tree As I cry Standing so still, I ball up my fists, and scream to the wind Tears of frustration and pain harshly shed So I cry Standing so still, The strength of my life draws away in the breeze Chances missed and loves lost, I sink to the ground As I die Written February 7th, 2002 © on Feb 07 2002 12:10 PM PST   10 • 0
