Grandma's Hands

By gregpoet

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Have you looked at Grandma's hands? The fingertips? Old and wrinkled with gentleness. The nails? Stained with thousands of recipe ingredients. The palms? Gnarled from holding loved ones close. Have you noticed how the veins stand out, and seen the proud and loyal lines of love that God has etched therein? Have you held her hands in yours, and felt a warmth and comfort from their corns and callouses? Or felt again the healing touch that smoothed your fevered troubled brow? Have you looked at Grandma's hands? Really looked at Grandma's hands? Well look again, and see in them the Hands of God at work.           written by Gregory Fitt Written November 10th, 2001 © on Nov 10 2001 03:14 AM PST   18 • 0 • 13
