Just a Lonely Sad Raindrop

By gregpoet

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I've lost my way and cannot find my destiny. I hang suspended for a moment, a dreaded moment, lost in time. Lost....movement for a while ....I halt....suspended thus, then slowly losing grip, and now I drip.... alone and lost, a sad forgotten raindrop. Falling as I did from high above these trees, from Home way in the clouds. My home that's blown away to leave me falling on my own. Forsaking me, not guiding me, to fall unheeded in a tree. to drip....to drip ....without a destiny. A raindrop on his own can never stand alone, but drips until he is consumed by thirsty land below. But no! With desperate urgency, I'll cling to this last berth. I drip no more, or I shall be consumed by famished earth.
