The Runner

By Highland Dreams

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Here stands the conqueror Before the morning sun He puts on his trainers Preparing for his run Cold wind in his face Chilling his rosy cheeks Big race is coming up In a few short weeks Through rain and snow His pace does propel Not only his body But his mind as well Shattered yet refreshed At the end of the run The race has yet to start But it’s already been wonFor James Angus Mackay (tgb) who will be running the London marathon in April. Best of luck to you James, we're behind you. Written January 31st, 2002 © on Jan 31 2002 06:44 AM PST   18 • 0 • 12
