A Fleeced Flower

Ghosts in the shadows haunt you, frighten you, and mock you You fear them They are pictures of a life with a preference to be forgotten From your mind Visualizations of times long ago that fester and burrow Do not fear We are here to support you and guide you to paths anew You are loved, Yes you are The children giggle innocently to remind you of your pain Faults not theirs Motherly love presides and the children are your peers Teach them well Society could use a few better people than what it has Disallow the Internet We want icons and role models, not another weapon bearer Even in acceptance, Pain is inevitable “Every time a bell rings, and angel gets its wings” Forty, you have A soul of torment from poisoned fangs of misunderstanding You’re not alone Seep deep into the crevices and minds of the worthy Forget the past Allow your instincts to take control of your will Fingers of pain Bring another pleasure The pedals of man can be ridden to the point of ecstasy Just be honest Know your limitations and the limitations of those you admire and loathe They are life Anything outside of their existence is not worth the time; your time I am here Embrace the flower outside of your mind for it is in a garden of stone Flaws are unavoidable, Do not deny Age is but a number, inscribed by time to categorize its peasants Mere labels; people Age has caused some of the most profound depression in history Mere numbers; people Look past it, and suffer the tragedies of having an open-mind Do not despair You are who you are, not for how ancient time depicts you You are accepted, Because you’re you Do not let anyone take that away from you.1/5 of a series written in honor of a friend/enemy.
