Let the children play For the grown-up is the enemy; Let the children say, "We don't want authority" Let the children run amuck And see what happens to opposition; Let the children pry and pluck At the sigil of a logical vision Let the children's pride be hurt For they are a small people; Let the children cry and assert For they are only feeble Let the children hide and scoff No matter how sad the travesty; Let the children turn and run off From fear's painful honesty.
