Unfavorable Choices

By Malveasor

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

If ever a pain came to me, Your loss is so much worse If ever a pain came to see, Your second to be is a curse A pride was hurt and torn, A friendship led to spoil Now I have two enemies From one friendship led to spoil Choose he, or me... Options of two Choose me, or he... It matters not who To not choose any at all Is in its own right a choice For you have chosen he, Over myself as the choice One that disrespects your friend In turn, disrespects you Just because you are on the other end Does not mean over your head it flew Loyalty is something he does not supply In his frienship of material things So really you are just an object, A part of his friendship of material things But you refuse to see that And so parting we must Now the chair from whence you sat Will be inhabited by dustSome people just refuse to see the truth.
