Dreams of Madness

By Matthew

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

The dream begins The black wind howls The cold wind bites to the bone The flinty eyes of death are hard The dream goes on The souls of many cry in vain They all reside in the house of pain The black cloak descends on all Eternal rest asleep we fall Familiar faces no hiding places The dream goes on My face reflected back at me A tingling feeling no time to flee I see a monsters face But I am not afraid For I have seen the eyes of death The dream goes on And I hold to what hope that I can find For my face is looking back at me And I am not afraid For I have heard the black wind howl The dream goes on And as I look into the creatures eyes I see a soul like yours or mine And I recognize this soul for it is not afraid Written March 8th, 2002 © on Mar 08 2002 02:56 AM PST   0 • 10
