Play For Your Soul

By Matthew

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I was higher than a kite when I O.D'd that night And they came for me the very next day An angel and a demon and the red one a screaming Telling me that there was hell to pay The Angel said hold on red this mans path aint set His soul is in a balancing way And in order to see where his soul is a heading For it we're going to have to play Well I was a sitting and that demon was a grinning As he pulled out that bass in bad ass'd black Then I saw the golden strings on a pearly white strat Pulled out from behind that angels back Then the demon began to play Well that demon could a rock and a roll as he played for my soul With that low rumbling sound of a hell bound hound My body started shaking and my mind started quaking And the demon shrieked and he squealed At the steal of a deal that the angel had been fool to make But then the angel began to play Well that explosion of sound it shook me around as my soul was torn in two But that angel kept a strumming and that strat kept a humming And the sound blew my mind away Written March 8th, 2002 © on Mar 08 2002 03:02 AM PST   20 • 0 • 14
