Mirror
By Matthew
I look at you and what do I see I see the world reflected back at me Your shining eyes, your smiling face When you’re around you brighten up the place What little I know what little I see The fullness of life reflected back at me Reflection, the image lives the mirror shows Rich green fields where you run free Or the beauty of the evergreen draped in winter snows Look once look twice look three times even Reflection, the image lives the mirror shows Life’s too short to sit there grieving Life and time intertwined, where do they go so quickly? No one knows You don’t know and you don’t care Reflection, the image lives the mirror shows I don’t know and I despair But I only need to look to you And see the mirror standing there Written March 8th, 2002 © on Mar 08 2002 02:46 AM PST 18 • 0 • 8
