Oblivion

By Matthew

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

What was has no meaning what will be holds no weight what we were was the begining what we are has no fate the only truth to which we are tied is that eventually everything dies Your mother gave you morals and your honor keeps you bound but the the laws of survival govern all so what hope have you found Your father taught you discipline and how to face the end but a greater purpose you will not find and to the the darknes you must bend Generals will gamble with your life and the rightous, for your soul entire cites will be consumed in fire and the people cry for more What was can never be again while what may be keeps vain hope strong and blinds us from the here and now but what may be can never be again so find hope in sweet oblivion Written March 8th, 2002 © on Mar 08 2002 02:49 AM PST   0 • 1
