Grim Joker

By Matthew

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust Fight your battles and do what you must Make your fortune and gamble on time Don't you dare try to waste any of mine We are all connected in our minds Only the thinnest walls we hide behind You can say my existence is pointless You can say that I am faceless Wearing a mask to cover up my face But what you say makes no difference to me Your ramblings and your gambling's have brought you to this place You fear the darkness within and so you flee I laugh at your antics and you think me mad My mild amusement brings no real joy And thus some think my life is sad But don't waste your pity on this poor boy You refuse to believe that we are anything alike You deny the shadow within your self And you can't see the humor of our lives Why can't you see that I won't bite? I just want you to see what you can be if you take your feelings off the shelf Don't worry about the danger I know that you will survive Embrace your darkness and set your self, free Hop in next to the Grim Joker and take a ride with me Written March 8th, 2002 © on Mar 08 2002 02:52 AM PST   0 • 10
