I Understand...

I'm stronger than you think I am, Stronger than you want to believe. I can support myself and you. And I will, if you'll let me. I've been through this before, I know what you are feeling. I don't how to tell you what to do, But I understand. I know the feeling, Of not knowing. And I know the confusion, That is overpowering. I know the saddness, Where you feel nothing else. I know the pain, That is so close to being too much. I know how it feels, To not know who you are. I know how it feels, To not be able to speak. I know how it feels... I don't know why, You refuse to believe, That I understand. I know... I am not going to leave you here, To fight this battle, Alone... I won't. I care too much now, To do that to you. You deserve better than me. But I'm the best I can do. I realize... you're afraid, Afraid to hurt me, Afraid of what it might do. I've been hurt before, So do it again, I dare you! I'm not leaving you. I know the pain, Of losing someone. And I'll suffer it agian... For you... Stop worrying about me! This isn't about me anymore. It's about you now. Not me...NOT ME!! How can you know, That I won't understand? How can you assume, So much? How can you think, That I don't care about you? How can you doubt, What you don't understand? How can you presume, That you are going to hurt me? How can you tell me, To leave you alone? How can you say, That you don't want to hurt me? When you know I want so badly, To stay here with you. I'll wait on you. I won't leave you behind. Not like they left me... Never like they left me... I won't leave you alone... I know how it feels, To have to cry, Only when there is no one home. Trust me... Let me hold you up now, Lean on me... I CAN support you. I won't let you fall... I won't let go of you, I'll hold on, I can, you know... It's my turn to do this, My turn to be the strong one. You can't be strong all the time. You're human too you know. You don't have to hold that mask up for me. I won't run away. You can't scare me off now. I got a glimpse of what lies underneath. The feeling are under, That calloused rough outside. I know... Mine are too. Stop hiding from me, I know where you are. I know how you feel. Trust me... Let me do this now, Let's switch roles for a little while. Let me hold you up, Let me do this my way. Let me be strong, Let me take my turn. You had your's, Now let me have mine... Don't you argue with me! Not this time!
