A Sonnet of Night

By Morgan LeFay

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Night unfolds the glow of shadows twilight Drifting velvet comfort o'er worried minds Daylight's creatures bask in sleepy delight While denizens of night unfurl day's binds Stars neither glow nor twinkle in such times Rather peeking shyly like maidens young Children of the heaven's first wondrous chimes Growing old to tales of heroes oft' sung On such a night as this magic hastens To dance in swarms of nightly soaring wings Telling us of days past, our souls chastens Reminding us of reasons lost by kings What would I give to hold this night always No price would change the darkness of moon's faze Written August 31st, 2001 © on Aug 31 2001 03:20 PM PST   0 • 13
